ActiveGolf.com allows visitors to "find and book golf tee times for courses throughout the United States and Canada" as well as "last-minute specials at courses near you."
Unfortunately, the site possessed an outdated design and text-heavy pages, which frequently led to user confusion when trying to accomplish their primary goal(s) - finding and booking tee times. ACTIVE also possesses a second golf site (Click4TeeTimes.com), which caters to a similar demographic but has even greater issues; as a result of this and ActiveGolf's impending redesign, it is being shut down and merged with the new ActiveGolf.com.
I attempted to breathe new life into ActiveGolf.com with improved search functionality and a more modern approach to the site's overall design and architecture. My design utilized large, open page layouts to allow users to more easily browse and digest the site's content and incorporated large, beautiful images to help the user "picture themselves" at the site to create a sense of desire and urgency. My designs also led to improved search functionality within the site and a clearer way of organizing & displaying content to the consumer.

-Average Number of Pages Visited per Session increased from 3.22 to 4.94

My name's Brian and I'm an Industrial and User Experience Designer currently living in San Diego, CA with a passion for designing simple and elegant solutions to complex problems.
I obtained my BFA in Industrial Design at Carnegie Mellon University in 2012 and spent a semester abroad at the Technische Universiteit Eindhoven in the Netherlands, studying interaction design and traveling Eastern Europe to enrich and broaden my views. After that, I interned with Walt Disney Imagineering and found a love for creating products and experiences that excite & enrich people's lives.
